Goitre, causes and symptoms

An explanation of the goitre, symptoms and causes

Goitre may not require treatment, especially if the only small-sized goiter and thyroid hormone levels are still normal. However, if the goiter is growing because of excessive thyroid hormone production or because of an inadequate thyroid hormone, and you also feel uncomfortable, you should immediately treat it.

Can goiter occurs when the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism) or thyroid hormone deficiency (hypothyroidism). Goiter can also be caused due to pituitary gland stimulates the thyroid to increase growth hormone production. Enlargement can also occur with normal thyroid hormone production, such as toxic multinodular glands.

Other types of thyroid goiter is sporadic growth, that are formed if you're eating too much food which caused goiter, like rutabagas, soybeans, cabbage, peaches, peanuts, and spinach. These foods can suppress the production of thyroid hormone by the thyroid's ability to process interferes with the iodide. Lack of iodide is common cause in people with goiter. But in the 1920s the salt beryodium was introduced in the United States. Since then, cases of goiter were declining dramatically.

Goitre can be one of several types of enlargement of the thyroid gland, which is located under the front side of the neck or just below the jakun. On the whole, Graves disease of the thyroid gland enlarges. Toxic nodular goiter, on one or more nodules or thyroid adenoma, thrive in and triggers the excess production of thyroid hormones. In short, the goiter is any enlargement of the thyroid gland. Hyacinth may be able to recover by itself, but a severe goiter should get medical treatment.
